Poppy Get Well

Hello, dear friends!  This card was sooo fun to make!  I took a Copic class in Knoxville, TN, last year, and I love 'em!  I pick up one or two a month with my Hobby Lobby coupons.  I love doing the shading!    I love the simpleness of the poppy stamp on the front from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and the one inside from Gina K Designs.  From the same set, I used the "Praying for you" sentiment, and the larger verse on the inside is called May God Meet You from Stampabilities.

I stamped the poppy image in Versamark ink and used black embossing powder then heated.  It is so neat the way the color doesn't bleed into other areas past the embossing if you don't hold the marker there too long.  These remind me of the poppy fields in the movie, The Wizard of Oz.  I'm getting sleepy, sleepy...  The black patterned cardstock is from a DCWV 'The Black Currant Stack', and all other solid colors are from Stampin' Up.  The edge punch is called "Lace Border" from Fiskars.  I used trimmings from the border punch for all of the borders - positive and negative.

The inside of the card
The black marker is from Stampin' Up.  The Copic markers I used on the poppies are G82 Spring Dim Green, G28 Ocean Green, C1 Cool Gray No. 1, BG72 Ice Ocean, R29 Lipstick Red, R39 Garnet, R59 Cardinal and R35 Coral.

  2. Hi Clare! Wow! This is soooo pretty and the design is beyond clever! Love that the inside pulls out! The images are so perfectly matched and the sentiment is wonderful!!! I love your coloring! I too am hooked on Copics! I am not certified... but I love to color! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your well wishes! Actually my hubby will be 3 weeks in Germany so that's a longer trip than we like... but it's special training and won't be that long all the time! Oh and you had asked about my Ricky.... he was at the vet today and needs to have his teeth cleaned! He has some nasty plaque and sore gums and so they will have to put him to sleep to do that. He passed his physical except that he has to lose 3 + pounds! LOL! Yeah... me too!!! LOL! Hope all is well with you my friend!!! I still am enjoying looking at your incredible card you sent me!!! Will always treasure it!!!!

    hugs,
    Grace

  3. Hi Clare! Thanks for stopping by my blog! You asked about the FS... it isn't hard at all. In the post I explainded how I use my piercer to kind of shape and gather the FS together into the shape I want, and it makes a LOT of difference over just sprinkling it on and letting it dry. You can really shape it, build it up in the middle for more dimension, etc. It's a lot of fun and easy peasy!!!

Hoping you are doing well Clare!!!

  5. I love the way you've used the black & red half & half to create a border round your image panel & the way you echo that mirroring with the punched border. It's so lovely to see the inside too.
