My Daughter and Fishin' Buddies

Hi, y'all!  I hope each of you has been blessed this week!  I certainly have!  First, I'd like to say that I am so proud of my daughter!  She is my youngest of three, at 29, and is going through a divorce.  She's never been one that would listen to us about religion of any type - she used to say, "I don't want to hear that God stuff."  She saw the movie, Fireproof, last weekend, and has started working in the 40-day book.  She's been asking my husband and I questions, and she has talked to a minister as part of marriage councelling.  Her dad was baptized several weeks ago, and she attended our church for that ceremony.  She left right after he was finished, about 1/2 way through the service.  She's always been adamant about not believing in God, so this has taken us quite by surprise!  She's been reading an online bible, and has asked if she can join us at church tomorrow!  Hallelujah!  Maybe having the baby has made a difference!  He turns one next Wednesday!
Fishin' Buddies - Using the last two digi-stamps I won from Whimsy Stamps, I made a fourth card for them as a guest designer.  I was so excited, and it was a lot of fun doing them.  This last card is a generic, best wishes-type card, or "Best Fishes" I should say!  Moose has caught a large fish, but the line is tangled in some of the tall grass alongside the dock.  Beaver just casually stands there, not worried because Moose will land it!  They are visited by a frog, a bee, and there are cattails in the grass, too!  They even feel like them, because there is brown flocking on them.  The "Got Fish?" banner has been embossed with fish scales!  I got carried away again with all the little details, but that's what I love to do!  Best "Fishes" to all of you this weekend and for the coming week!  I will have internet access while on vacation, so please drop me a line, and tell me what you've been up to!  Until next time...

Absolutely Kissable!

Have you ever looked at someone you love dearly, and they looked just especially cute at that moment, and you just wanted to kiss them?  Your son or daughter, your grandchild, a baby just after a bath, your spouse, a giggling child?  My hubby surprised me this week with plans to go on a two-week vacation leaving next Saturday, in our 5th wheel trailer, to Washington, DC!  I've never visited there!  I will be working on some projects while we're gone for a stamp company, and I didn't want him to see me make this card for him.  Well, he just asked me if he could see what I had recently posted, and I said, "No."  He looked at me funny!  He looked kissable!  I love to tease him.  All the while I was making his card, I thought about him, his smell, the softness and roughness of his cheeks, his blue eyes, his kiss.  I noticed that when making a card for a specific person, I usually think about that person the whole time I'm making it, unless I have music on.  I've remembered some things when thinking about someone that I wouldn't have normally thought of if it was just a fleeting thought of them.

Whimsy Stamps Guest Designer Card #3

Hi, y'all!  I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!  My weekend has been good, with a lot accomplished, not only stamping!  I'm looking foward to the cooler weather, though.  Right now it is 94, with a heat index of 103!  And my beloved just got done mowing and edging the lawn!  I don't know how he does it!
This little poodle looks like one of my old clients, Gigi!  I'm a retired dog groomer, but I still see her occasionally.  Did you know there are really tiny little poodles called "Teacup Poodles"?  They are much smaller than a Toy Poodle.  I used to groom one that had three legs, and it took two people!

Thank you, Verve Stamps!

I ordered some Plain Jane stamps from the Verve stamp company, and I mistakenly ordered two of one type.  They are allowing me to return one in exchange for another.  Good customer relations and service is hard to find nowadays!  Thank you, Verve!  I can't wait to get the new replacement called Amazing Grace.  When I was ready to mail the duplicate stamp back to Verve, I didn't want to just put it into an envelope, so I made a little thank you card in which I mailed the stamp back.

Whimsy Stamps Guest Designer Card #2

Hi, y'all!  I hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits!  I have been excited as I worked on my cards for the Whimsy Stamps.  I get done with one, and I can't wait to start another!  This one is a Why "Sew" Blue card, that I made kinda sorta for myself.  I didn't realize it until just now.  I've already snapped out of it!  =)  I've been thinking and praying a lot for a good friend who had to have a double mastectomy last week due to cancer, and she found out today, that it has spread into her lymph nodes on the right side, so will have to go back in for more surgery.  She just got home!  I know I could never be as strong as her!  She is writing in a daily journal blog, and she just sounds so tough, courageous and upbeat!  Get well soon, Girlfriend!  I'm praying for you!

Grant's First Birthday Card Thanks to Whimsy Stamps

I was very surprised to learn that I won a blog by Whimsy Stamps, and they gave me five digi-stamps and a guest designer spot on their website for the month of August!  I am so excited!  I hope I can do them proud!
My first creation with a digi is this birthday card for my little grandson, Grant, who is turning one on August 25!

Joan's Gardens Blog Challenge #9

I have never made one of these flowers, but always wanted to.  It was a little time consuming and hard to hold while gluing, but I did it!
